Hi all
I was going to upload a photo of the Piano Wargames Bavarian Chevaulegers that I have spent hours on and nearly finished this morning BUT...
WHAT IS WITH GOOGLE NOW DEMANDING I ALLOW COOKIES BEFORE I CAN UPLOAD PHOTOS TO THIS BLOG? This is new and I am not happy! The Google popup says that they want to use my information (presumably for AI) and if I don't allow it tough. Well, I don't allow it, so my apologies to all that there is no photo for this unit and I need to consider where I go from here.
Cheers
Chris
I thought allowing cookies to upload photos had been around for a while? That's a pity as I'd have liked to see a work in progress!

Hi Iain, I am somewhat cynical by nature having been around for 73 years. Meta providing 'free' data centre access for blogging was/is a nice concept but, it seems, nothing in the internet space is 'free'. I would, however, have appreciated prior notification of this breach of privacy (is there such a thing in the cyber world?). I am happy to sent any photos to your Gmail address while I ponder my next blogging step.
DeleteI must have mine set to allow as I uploaded some pictures a couple of days ago. The thousands of additional hits from what I assume was AI training appears to have over the past couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteHi Lawrence, sorry for the delay in replying but we are on holidays in the Whitsunday's. I do find the massive increase in hits your excellent photos have had to be concerning being somewhat paranoid over online risks. In a previous life, I worked in an area that dealt with ID theft and am acutely aware of my personal security online.
DeleteChris, to me this one is not a big one. It requires signing in to your account, which is the same as you do to produce a post on your blog or to comment as your user name on the blogs of others. However, it seems to be a different 'arm' of blogger. I regularly clear cookies from my browser. I leave Blogger and a handful of others on the expansive list. Interestingly, I need to sign in again whenever I post photos.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
